| Residential Rafters
A rock solid skillion roof, with plenty of open space, to maximise this magnificent view of Sydney Harbour.
It’s just a stones throw from the Sydney Harbour bridge, so the owners wanted to take full advantage of the views from this prime harbour-side property.
The top floor features a large living area and a rooftop covered with large pebbles and solar panels, so LiteSteel beam was chosen by the designers and builder for it’s excellent spanning capacity and light physical weight. LSB’s high structural strength provided a design with long spans, especially given the added load created by the innovative roof finish on this luxury residence. A reduced depth of roof was achieved for architectural design and more headroom inside to maximise the views of the harbour.
It is a narrow block with restricted access, so light weight and ease of installation were significant benefits during the buildings’ construction. Light weight LSB made is easy for the builder to lift the full pack onto the roof by crane and manually install the sections with simple bolted fixings, reducing cost and time.
Overall benefits of LSB
- Long Span – Greater Internal Space.
- Less Section Depth – More Views.
- High Strength – Extra Loads.
- Lightweight – Easier Construction.
- Simple Connections – Faster and Easier
On-site Installation
LSB made it so much easier to build on this narrow and difficult to access hillside block.’
