| Mezzanine Floor
LiteSteel® beam minimises
floor depth.
Height restriction was a real challenge for builder
John Spinks in the construction of a two storey
accommodation and storage annex at a Victorian
equestrian centre. LSB reduced the floor depth by
270 mm making the project possible. Great spanning
capability, easy construction and on site handling
made LSB the right choice for this mezzanine floor.
Overall benefits of LSB
- Rigidity of the floor from LSB joists – no bounce
what so ever.
- All the joists were the same height – even floor
without twist or movement.
- Onsite handling made easier.
‘The site had a height restriction. LSB
reduced the floor thickness by 270 mm.
This meant we were able to fit an extra
floor on to the building within the height
restriction.’
John Spinks, Tremendo
‘The benefits to our team were:
- Very fast to build.
- Easy to put together.
- Excellent spanning capabilityfor weight.
- Connections.
It was just brilliant.’

General description of project:
The project involved a stable with a two storey storage and accommodation annex. The site had a site restriction applied. The LSB joists
reduced the floor depth by 270 mm, allowing
a second storey to fit within the height
restriction. The 5 kPa floor comprised LSB
joists site welded to steel wall frames. |
